E3 2011: Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Officially Announced; Screenshots and Trailer Included

June 6, 2011, By Christian Davis

The game that has been rumored for months and months has now finally been officially revealed. Halo: Combat Evolved will be making it’s way back to the Xbox(in HD of course.)

The single player will be completely intact. The multiplayer however is a tad different. Outside of the co-op campaign, Halo: CE Anniversary will not have online multiplayer. So three shotting someone with a pistol online won’t be possible unfortunately.

That’s not to say the game won’t have multiplayer at all though. Six multiplayer maps from Halo: CE  will be playable in Halo: Reach along with Halo 2’s damnation. The process will be similar to that of Halo: ODST.

343 Industries’ Frank O’ Connor stated on SpikeTV that the game will also be a budget priced game. So something along the line of $40 is a good estimate. Said to be the best single player story of the decade, players will be able to see their poor soldiers die in horrific ways.

It’s gonna be great to relive that again. Halo: Combat Evolved is coming later this year. While you wait, check out the screenshots(some are before and after) and trailer below.
