We very well know that many of you have met situations in which your favorite smartphone just crashes all of a sudden leaving you in a fix to catch back the valuable data on it. It seems that the users of Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and Xperia Arc will now find it easier to back-up their data.

The news is that the cloud based data back-up service named Dropbox has struck a deal with the Xperia manufacturer Sony Ericsson to include their Dropbox app preloaded with the Xperia devices.

Dropbox offers you 2 GB space for free when you sign up. You can use this space for backing up your valuable data. Since their back up method is cloud-based, you can access the data very easily from anywhere using their smartphone app. The app allows you to retrieve the backed up data in word documents or spreadsheets and view them through the smartphone devices.

If you find the 2 GB storage that Dropbox offers for free is not enough for your back up needs, you can select one of the premium plans to get more space and better services. Currently, Dropbox offers 1 GB additional to the Softbank customers in Japan. If you are excited with the Dropbox story, you can sign up here and start backing up your data in the cloud.
