It’s strange the way joy comes these days! The new firmware update, named KE7 has turned out to be a delicacy for the Samsung Galaxy SII Android smartphone users. Actually the Gingerbread.XWKEY, the  third update for this model can be done by tapping “system updates” or connected via the Samsung Kies application.

After completing the process, do check whether the build number displays Gingerbread.XWKE7 in the system settings. If yes, that means the update has started rolling out and patience is in demand from then on.

In case you are wondering as to what all additions the update brings with it, one major aspect is that battery life has been improved with the update. Another gift from the update is the availability of more-free RAM on start-up and improved processing speed. The picture in the background effect menu has also undergone change.

The camera has also undergone a massive update – earlier the camera was reported to have problems regarding image quality, but the update has fixed this issue as well. The issue of pink spots in images taken using the camera can also be forgotten now, as the update hails with the debugging unit. GPS readings have turned out to be more accurate than ever. A few upgrade applications including Samsung Applications also come as a bonus.

Tell us how  is your phone performing after the update?
