RIM BlackBerry Monaco/Monza Smartphone to Sport Volt Tag

Do you think brand names matter? It looks like they do. Apparently, RIM has already taken the initiative for a total metamorphosis regarding the brand names of their next device. The company’s upcoming Monaco 9850 and Monza 9860 variants would be wearing the new Blackberry Volt tag.

The variants possess the same external design based on a 3.7-inch touchscreen, but the difference lies in their ties to CDMA and GSM networks. We had earlier heard that the gadgets are similar to  the Storm, but missing the SurePress click-in touchscreen technology. In any case, both the variants will integrate 1.2GHz processors and 768MB of RAM.

Another rumor that caught our attention was that the models would be coming with the label BlackBerry Touch and at the same time other rumors suggest RIM will be mulling around with the Monaco and Monza staying in the Torch family.

Do keep in mind that these are just rumors and are still unconfirmed. It’s not the first time we are hearing rumors like these before the release of a BlackBerry device.  The Monaco/Monza is set to hit the market this late summer or by early fall.

RIM will be also launching a smaller device called the Curve Touch soon. What would you like to see RIM’s next smartphone to be called? Scribble in your views.
