Toshiba Thrive 10.1-inch Android Honeycomb Tablet on Pre-Order Now at J&R

If you have been tracking news on Toshiba’s 10.1-inch Android Honeycomb tablet, you might be aware that the device has been named Thrive. Earlier rumored to come with a weird ANT moniker, the name was changed to Thrive. Ever since you have been waiting to play with the tablet, we know. Here’s some good news on that front.

The Toshiba Thrive 8GB and 32GB variants are now available for pre-order over at J&R. Though the J&R website has not revealed any images of the device, you can head over there to place your pre-order. If you would remember, the device was listed on Newegg too last month and the pricing looked alluring.

J&R also has taken the Newegg route with regard to the pricing of the Thrive. The 8GB model has been for $449, while the 32GB model will come for tad more at $579. You need not think that money too big, as you will be getting four times the amount of storage space when you part with $579.

We are just wondering why there is no mention of a 16GB variant as yet. With the other models’ pricing details now revealed, we guess we should expect the 16GB model to come for around the $500 levels when it arrives.

If you haven’t  looked at our report that spoke of the specs in detail, here they are again. Toshiba’s 10.1-inch Android Honeycomb tablet will come with a dual core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, a 1,280 x 800 display, a 2-megapixel camera on the front with a 5-megapixel shooter with auto focus at the rear, Bluetooth 3.0+ and Wi-Fi connectivity, an SD memory card reader, HDMI and USB 2.0 support.

With all these amazing specs and an equally charming price, we guess its time for pre-ordering the device. If you are looking at the 8GB version head here and for the 32 GB model you need to be here. Tell us if you are waiting for the 16GB variant too.

Before you go for the buy, you may also want to have a closer look of the device in the video posted below.
