Given up all your hopes of grabbing the new Droid Charge?  Is it the hefty price tag that kept pulling you back? Then, we have for you some really exciting news. Amazon is offering a lower price compared with what Verizon Wireless is offering, for the brand new Samsung Droid Charge.

When the device hit the market last week, it was priced at $299 with a new two-year contract. However, the very same Droid Charge will now be available at Amazon outlets for just $199 with contract. Though the offer is primarily meant for new customers, existing customers can also avail a discount down to $249 provided they purchase it through Amazon.

Verizon’s second 4G LTE phone, Droid Charge had faced some delays as part an outage in the 4G LTE network before it made its way into the market. As you may know, the Samsung Droid Charge runs Android 2.2 and comes featuring a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display protected with Gorilla Glass, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 8-megapixel back camera with LED flash. Further, it incorporates a 1GHz Hummingbird processor under the hood.

Amazon has had an amazing history of coming up with lower price tags. To cite a few, it had offered the Droid Incredible 2 at $79 and the Motorola Atrix for only $50 earlier. Besides, they offer a trade- in program for old DVDs and electronics.

What are you waiting for now?
