Apple Likely to Launch 2 New MacBook Air Models; Expect Arrival this June

May 18, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

We are well aware that you are expecting an offer from Apple this season. Seems like Apple is well aware of your expectations too! The new 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch MacBook Air models featuring Sandy Bridge and Thunderbolt interface are likely to be outed in late May for launch in June or July. It’s true that Apple’s PR representatives in Taiwan are yet to comment on this, but we shouldn’t forget that Apple has a way to keep their product releases enigmatic.

The advantage that MacBook Air has over other notebook PCs including Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Acer and Asustek Computer is that they are all inferior to the MacBook in thickness levels.

Along with Apple, other notebook PCs vendors have decided to increase monthly shipments to meet the steadily increasing sales in this season and consequently shipments in June will be in peak levels. Based on this information, the order volume of the new MacBook Air in the month of initial launch (June & July) will be probably high.

The main supply chain makers for the new models remain the same for the manufacture of the MacBook Air. Quanta Computer will be in total charge of the assembling, Catcher Technology takes care of the supplying casings, Auras Technology supplies thermal modules, Shin Zu Shing supplies hinges and Simplo Technology and Dynapack provide the batteries. The matter of concern here is that none of the makers have confirmed their participation in the making of the new MacBook Air. Suspicious, isn’t it?
