Dell XPS 15Z Notebook Teased on Facebook; Triggers Comparison with the Apple MacBook Pro! (Video)

Did you know Dell was in the works with a new ultrathin notebook? A new Facebook teaser hints that the device will soon come to our midst with the new XPS 15Z moniker. As in the case with many recent Dell teasers, this one also doesn’t reveal much about the features of the product. However, it appears to be glaringly inspired from Apple’s unibody MacBook Pro.

The model comes with an all-silver frame and black bezel, patterned speaker grills on either side of a chiclet keyboard, and even a five-dot, button-activated battery indicator. A slot-load optical drive on the right-hand side and a pair of USB 3.0 ports add to the features. The thin, powerful and intuitive XPS 15Z also features a 15.6-inch display and Core i5 and i7 processors. Though no official announcement has come regarding the price, it is expected to cost below $1,000.

The Apple reference here is obvious, if you look at the device once. Dell has – earlier – used Apple systems as launching points for systems, specifically aiming the Adamo and Adamo XPS as Windows alternatives to the MacBook Air. However, a majority of them have been distinctive designs targeted more at fans of the Mac. This time around, the new device appears to be a direct imitation of MacBook Pro. Will Dell gain from the gamble? Let’s wait and see.  In the meanwhile you may want to head for Dell’s Facebook page here.
