Apple Bringing in Text-to-Speech Converter for iPhone; Patent Filed

We all know Apple is continuously striving to bring in added features into their iPhone technology. Going by the latest development at Cupertino, we have reasons to believe that iPhone users are likely to experience the pinnacle of handset technology soon. The news is that Apple has filed a patent application for a system that could convert text to speech and vice-versa on the iPhone. This might turn out to be one among the coolest functionality provided on a handset, we suppose.

We think the new system will serve as helpful in many ways, in a variety of situations. Two such situations have been identified by the manufacturer; it will be very useful for those who are trapped in noisy situation and find it tough to make urgent calls. It will also be helpful for those who are not able to talk out louder because of being held up at a situation like attending a meeting, lecture or any situation of similar kind.

As for the proposed system, it has been learnt that it will include the noise detection facility. When the outside noise is too loud, the phone would automatically convert the speech from the other end into text messages.

As the solution for the second mentioned situation, the user would type out the message and the same will be converted to speech. Well, it is also reported that if any such situation arises where the text messaging is needed, the system will be activated on both ends. Here the speakers on both the ends would be talking and their words would be converted in to text.

What are the other possible ways for which the system would be useful? We are eager to know your take on this new innovation. Do share your views.
