T-Mobile SnapPad Tablet Coming? Trademark Filing Makes Us Think So

May 11, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Is T-Mobile gearing up to bring to our midst a tablet? Seems like, it is actually happening. The carrier was recently spotted filing for the trademark to the name SnapPad.  T-Mobile’s trademark filing and several domain registrations are already evincing public interest. However, everything regarding the device appears to be under wraps. All we know is that it is another tablet computing device, based on what we have stumbled upon.

The USPTO request of the trademark name ‘SnapPad’ definitely makes us feel that it probably describes a tablet computer. T-Mobile has also been acquiring various domain names containing the name SnapPad, such as SnapPad.biz, T-MobileSnapPad.com and TMobileSnapPad.net, along with so many other similar names.

However, no detail as to what the device would look like is hard to come by. Speculations have started flying thick and fast that the upcoming device could either be one that has got some unannounced hardware or even a re-branded HTC product on T-Mobile.

Since the trademark name has got ‘Snap’ in it, it must have something to do with the closed snap or will feature some exclusive photography features. If it has got closed snaps then it would probably be a T-Mobile variant of the recently introduced Sony S2. These are just possibilities though.

All we can assure you of is that we will keep you informed as soon as we come across anything new regarding this mysterious device. So stay tuned for more updates. Also, don’t hesitate to tell us what you feel.
