You all know Sony has unveiled a new line of Xperia Mini smartphones already. Even as all you guys out there have been anxious to know what the Xperia Mini range of devices would come with, let us tell you Sony Ericsson has just a while ago unveiled a new Android smartphone exclusively for Japan. Remember, we had told you about this device a few days ago.

Christened Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro, the device will be available in Japan this summer. Now, that spurs a question as when all you Sony fans in the US and Europe will get to play with the device.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro comes with a 4.2 inch multi-touch display and will hide under the bonnet a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and an Adreno 205 GPU. Said to come with capabilities like Mobile TV with live TV viewing, the Acro will boast of an 8.1 mega pixel camera with Exmor R. This feature allows the capture of low-noise, high quality images and HD video of 720p in low light too.

Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, the Xperia Acro will be a delight to multimedia freaks, thanks to a Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine. The form factor is appealing with a Human Curvature design, while the infrared port enables data sharing with other infrared enabled devices.

What we also like about the device is that you can use it to pay for a wide range of services and digital or hard goods, while putting away cash, cheque or credit card mode of payment.

Japan will get it this Summer, but we are yet to find an answer to when it will arrive on the US and European markets. Stay tuned as we go find that for you. Also wait to know what is on the pricing front.
