This might be of some interest to all you LG fanatics out there. The company is said to be readying a new dual screen smartphone which would come riding US Cellular. You might have heard of the device earlier – though by a different name and was associated with a different carrier.

Okay, let’s explain. The new dual-screen phone running Android 2.2 Froyo is exactly the enV Pro that tipped to come to our midst on Verizon some time ago. However, that never happened. It seems like LG is not willing to give up – at least that is what the new phone – christened Genesis – tells us.

If you are looking for the specs, the prominent ones are:

  • Android 2.2 Froyo
  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor
  • 3.5-inch external touchscreen at 480×800
  • 3.2-inch internal touchscreen at 480×800
  • Five-row QWERTY keyboard
  • 5MP camera, max video resolution 640×480
  • 430MB of internal memory
  • 8GB microSD card
  • DLNA multimedia sharing
  • 4.72 inches x 2.43×0.66 size
  • 6 ounces in weight
  • 1500 mAh battery

What’s striking about the LG Genesis is that the phone boasts of a form factor very unlikely of an Android device. We are now waiting to know what LG ad US Cellular have on the pricing front.

Speculations have it that the device could come for $250 along with a two-year agreement or $450 on an outright purchase. Also, let’s go and get for you a possible launch date.

In the meanwhile, tell us if you would want to play with the Android phone from LG?
