Samsung D600 Android Gingerbread Smartphone Likely to be Wallet-Friendly

Remember the Replenish that was once heard much discussed as Samsung’s green smartphone? Well, we now have a sibling – or, at least, it emanates stuff identical to the Replenish. The phone we are talking about is codenamed Samsung SPH-D600, and going by the picture we see, the device is a QWERTY slider.

Most probably heading for Sprint, this device gives us thoughts of the Replenish mainly due to the presence of the similar row of physical buttons. If you take a closer look at the D600, you will get to understand that the device sports a powerful gigahertz-class MSM8655 processor from Qualcomm under the hood. The presence of 4G WiMax broadband data capabilities makes us wait for it, in fact.

However, we are a tad worried about the 320 x 480 HVGA resolution it will come with. Further, the 3.1 megapixel camera also gives us the jitters. We would have expected something better. What do you feel?

On the connectivity front, the device supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, WiMax as well as Bluetooth 3.0.  What we are now waiting to know is whether the device will come as one of the models in the Galaxy series. This, we tend to think so, because the model number D600 is somewhat close to the Epic 4G, which had come with the SPH-D700 number.

We expect this Android Gingerbread device will be rolled out with a wallet-friendly price tag. Tell us more on what you expect. In the meanwhile, let us try and find what’s on the pricing front and when it will finally arrive.
