Get SMART With Brink’s New HUD Video

May 3, 2011, By Christian Davis

Brink’s Get SMART series is a great addition for fans who are eager to learn everything about Brink before it’s release. With the game so close to being in our hands, we’ve got a video explaining ever single detail about the game’s HUD(Heads Up Display.) The HUD shows your health, ammunition, radar, etc…for those of you who don’t know.

The video below explains every single aspect about the HUD so you won’t be confused in the middle of battle. Here’s a list of things that the video goes over:

  • The Health meter is located in the upper left hand corner. Health is determined by the body type you choose, so your small and agile characters will have less health for example.
  • Medics will extend player health by one bar. If you purchase certain abilities or capture a health command post, you can add even more bars.
  • Your chosen class is located to the left of the health meter. Any buffs you character has, both self inflicted and received, will be displayed below your health meter.
  • Your primary objective timer is displayed in yellow and secondary objective timer is displayed in blue. Both are located on right hand side of the screen. There’s also a mission timer, that’s located in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Colored white, the mission timer will extend during objective gametypes when each primary objective is completed.
  • Radar, located in the bottom right corner, shows teammate position in  white, enemy position in red, objective locations in white diamonds and deployable objects in white.
  • Grenade icons are located in the bottom right. Once a grenade is thrown, the grenade meter turns grey and will be refilled slowly (probably single player only). Each grenade type has a different refill meter length.
  • Weapon type and ammunition are located in the bottom right corner.
  • Bottom left corner shows your character’s special abilities and supply meter. You select the ability by using the corresponding direction on the directional pad. Using an ability will require a cool down and will take one meter. Both will refill when not in use.

That’s a lot to know. Brink is set release on May 10th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Here’s the video below.
