Motorola Droid 3 Photos Leaked; Shown With Confusing ‘Targa’ Name!

April 29, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Many of you might be wondering whether the Motorola Droid 3 is getting ready for an early outing. We do have hard copy evidences, apparently with OEM parts retailer named Global Redirects Parts having posted pictures of what most would perceive as the Motorola Droid 3. However, what makes us a bit confused is the fact that they have referred to the device as ‘Targa’. From what we have already heard, Targa is the codename for the upcoming Motorola Droid Bionic- where as the Droid 3 has been codenamed Solana.

As the story builds up, the Solano was earlier spotted with the model number XT862, which resembles the keyboard-less phone – and that is the Droid. You may recall, the original Droid has model numbers of A855 / A955. But, more confusing is the fact that the Bionic variant is supposed to be out later this summer.

This leaves a loophole in the leak, which resists us from convincingly stating whether the pictures are really those of the Droid 3. On the other side, if the predictions are true, then quite surprisingly we are in for an early show by the Motorola Droid 3.

A quick scan through the earlier photos reveals the similarity the model has with the Droid series. The mobile does have a front camera and you can’t mistake it for a proximity sensor. And, that is a go for video conferencing which was promised before. The screen appears to be bigger and longer for the Droid 3. In comparison to the other leaked photos of Droid 3; the new leak doesn’t give us a space to think otherwise.

No matter how authentic the pictures are, we can’t rule out the theory that the site is using the name Targa to help get some advantage in the search engine – may be.

To conclude on a still mysterious case, neither Motorola nor Verizon Wireless has confirmed the existence of this phone. As of now, we are left to ponder over some speculations. Tell us you take on the pictures posted alongside.
