Sprint Google Nexus S 4G Android Gingerbread Smartphone Coming Your Way this May 8th

April 27, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The wait is finally over for all those Google fans out there.  The Google Nexus S 4G Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone will arrive on May 8th. The launch is not without offers – early birds can pre-order the gadget by buying a $50 gift card as a pre-deposit. The gift card can be availed to purchase the product when it is finally put up for sale.

The phone will set you back by $199.99 on a 2-year contract or eligible upgrade. Sprint’s WIMAX network has gone through upgrades to assist the device. A 1 GHz cortex A8 processor will lead the system along with a 16 GB inbuilt memory. One major flaw we find here is the lack of an expandable internal memory.

The phone will hold the same form factor as its sub-ordinate versions and will sport a 4 inch Super AMOLED Contour Display. The Nexus S 4G also will feature a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera.

On the connectivity front will be the basic wireless networking options such Bluetooth, GPS and 802.11 b/g/n. This means crystal clear video-conferencing, access to Android market and much more at 4G speed.

The launch could bring in more excitement to Sprint customers as they will be able to take advantage of the Google Voice features without changing or porting their number. The Nexus S 4G can be purchased this Spring online and in stores from Sprint retailers and Best Buy Mobile stores in the US.

The device is synonymous to the Nexus S that one can find over on T-Mobile, differing only in the lofty update to the fresh Android Gingerbread and the competence to run on 4G, courtesy WIMAX.

Now tell us if you have already decided to own this smart device that is coming your way this May.
