LG Optimus 2X Gingerbread Update This Summer; LG Danish Support Site Confirms News

April 15, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It seems a bunch of devices from different manufacturers are going Gingerbread this summer. We had a while ago reported the possibility of a Gingerbread update for HTC Droid Incredible this summer. Now we have a  leaked screenshot from the LG Danish support site that says that the LG Optimus 2X will be getting the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update during the upcoming summer. Woohoo… It’s a Gingerbread Summer.

LG sources are pretty tight lipped when it cones to talking about this, though. But with the screen shot from the Danish support site of the company getting  leaked, it could be seen as confirming the Gingerbread update for the device. Expect it by June – July this year.

As you can see, the screen shot says that LG P990 is getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in June-July 2011. LG P990 is the code name of the LG Optimus 2X, which only official sources can confirm.

Since we have got the confirmation from the officials about the identity of the LG P 990, we are pretty sure that the update will hit the smartphone this summer itself. Summer is a long way to go, we know. But better late, than never, as the saying goes. So get ready for Gingerbread days, folks.
