Nokia Astound Now on T-Mobile; Will You Go for this Symbian Device?

April 7, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

As promised earlier, T-Mobile has rolled out the Nokia Astound, right on schedule. Nokia Astound – the latest phone coming to the US carrier – is now being offered with a price tag of $72.99 for a two year contract period.

Packed with a 3.5 inch screen, and running on the Symbian platform, the device in fact presses the pause button on the flourishing Android names around. Astound will, for sure, woo a bunch of guys on to T-Mobile with its 8 megapixel camera and digital zoom that offers HD video recording and high quality still shots with the assistance of a dual LED flash.

However, having a soon-to-be-outdated OS platform makes it a little unattractive. Moreover, the Symbian platform on Astound is not up to the mark when compared to the Android or Windows Phone 7 devices. That is what we think.

The major features that worth mentioning here are the high resolution screen, built-in front facing web camera, 3.5 mm audio jack and access to the Ovi store to select from a range of apps that offer entertainment as well as help in carrying out routine things easy. You can check it out for yourself here.

Well, it comes with a retail price of $299.99 when sold off contract. If you ask us, we would say you should not go for a Symbian device for that money. What do you feel? Don’t hesitate to write to us.
