Apple White iPhone 4 Disappears from Official Site

April 7, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Ever wondered what is the most elusive thing in the tech world? Think Apple, and the answer could be the White iPhone 4. Guess you all know the white version of the iPhone 4 was officially announced as gearing up for launch sometime in Spring 2011. Many of you have been waiting impatiently for Apple to roll out this white cutie, we know.

However, the info that we have come across now is not so exciting. Apple has removed the white iPhone 4 from their website. Though Apple is yet to make any announcement as to whether they have  officially dropped the phone, or whether the disappearance of the device form the site just happened out of some technical glitch.

A theory goes thus:  There have been umpteen rumors that the iPhone 5 will hit the gadget world very close, as in this June. If there is an iota of truth in that, Apple should be asking itself a question about launching a fourth generation device when the fifth generation device is all set to launch. The latest development must have stemmed from such a thought.

While this is projected as one possible reason for the removal of the device from the website, another speculation is that the White iPhone 4 will eventually merge to the iPhone 5 making it a White iPhone 5.

June is just round the bend, and we suggest waiting patiently as the drama unfolds. In the meantime, we will try getting some clear tip on it.
