Kyocera Katsura Gaming Slate Leaks, Blurry Cam Shots Surface

April 6, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

An interesting leak with a bunch of blurry shots has revealed a new device from Kyocera, which is believed to be codenamed Katsura. The blurry cam shots of the hitherto unknown device reportedly originated from an anonymous source in Japan, close to the Koycera top brass.

Though the anonymity of the source dents the credibility of the information shared by the leak, the shots of the device, though blurry, as they should be, make it believable to some extent. As per the information shared by the source, the new device from Kyocera is a gaming tablet.

The leak claims that the Kyocera Katsura is meant to challenge the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play in the market by eating into the gamer tablet segment. Expecting a worldwide release soon, Kyocera Katsura is likely to run on Android platform.  By the way, Katsura is one of the three trees which make the city symbols of the Kyoto city, where Kyocera is based.

Though the blurry shots do not give us clear details about the features of the device, many assume that it is slightly shorter and a bit longer than the Motorola Xoom tablet.

From the pictures, we tend to think that the device has a rubbery matte black plastic back. It can be also seen that the Kyocera logo is surrounded by decorative fish and leaves. Well, what do you plan to do if it is a real gaming slate? Do not hesitate to tell us in the comments space below.
