New Spider-Man Edge of Time Trailer and Screenshots

April 4, 2011, By Christian Davis

In Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions you had the ability to play as several iterations of the web slinging super hero. Of those heroes, there was a futuristic version of Spidey set in 2099. Actvision and Beenox apparently really liked that version and we’re now getting a game based off it.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time has future Spidey trying to save the Spider-Man of the past. The trailer was shown at WonderCon in San Fransisco and it looks really good. An excellent gameplay feature is located in the lower right hand corner of the trailer and screenshots. It has modern day Spider-Man fighting enemies that is affecting the world of the 2099 Spider-Man.

From what I can tell from the trailer, the Spider-Man of the present is dead and without a past, there’s no future right? So you must alter time and space in order to save Spider-Man..err..yourself. Sometimes these time traveling, dimension altering storylines can get a bit confusing but when the game is being written by Spider-Man 2099 co-creator Peter David, you can count on it flowing smoothly.

Here’s the trailer below. It’s fast paced, action packed, and full of web swinging action. Below that trailer you’ll find some nice images from the game as well. Beenox has done a great job with the game and it’s looking like a lot of fun. Each part of the game you see look diverse from each other and will hopefully keep the game from feeling stale.
