Have you been anxiously waiting for the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference to once again take center stage and throw some goodies your way? Well, then here is the date you need to mark out as Apple has just announced officially that WWDC 2011 will take place on June 6th. The last time the event took place; one Steve Jobs unveiled iPhone 4 to the delight of everyone.

The big news this year will also no doubt surround the iPhone. The question hanging in the air will be regarding what Apple will put in our pocket in terms of next-generation iPhone. The speculation is already rife regarding whether Apple will bring an iPhone model to the event. If it does, then what will iPhone 5 exactly look like when it does get launched!

Considering Apple’s habit of pulling a surprise or two out of the bag, your guess is as good as ours. Of course, there are plenty of iPhone 5 rumors doing rounds and hence you can pick and chose to believe what you love at this point. But what is certain is that the future of iOS and Mac OS X will indeed be revealed at the event.

According to the release more than 100 technical sessions will be presented by Apple engineers at the event. Seems like big things have been planned… as is the case generally with Apple events. One way or another, “iPhone 5” will be the talking point as we get closer to the event and its future will be clearer after the event.
