Verizon drops the HTC Thunderbolt price to $149.99, only some get it

Some of Big Red’s customers are getting lucky today. According to our sources, select customers based around Chicago have been sent an email and were offered to buy the HTC Thunderbolt for only $149.99, after a $100 instant rebate and with the usual 2-years contract.

The deal is not available online, so stop spending time scouring the web for it. It’s only available if you get through with a sales person at 800.437.6132 and as said, only if you’re living close to Wind city.

If you’re interested in buying, but don’t know much about the device, we can tell you that this is Verizon’s first 4G LTE smartphone. It comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, features an 8 megapixel camera that has dual-LED flash and records 720p high definition video.

On top of that, it runs on a rather powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor (a dual-core CPU would make for an amazing superphone), has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and charms with its sleek aluminum body.

So how about you folks? Got the Thunderbolt for $149.99? And are you based in Chicago?
