Samsung TouchWiz 4 UI for Android 3.0 Honeycomb Tablets Coming This Summer

To add some extra color to Android Honeycomb users’ lives, Samsung has pushed out of their labs a new version of their TouchWiz User Interface. Dubbed TouchWiz4, it comes designed specifically for tabs running Android OS – especially Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

Being the first custom user interface to run on Google’s first tablet OS, the first glimpse of the new feature of the brand new UI was previewed at the preview of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 inch tablets at CTIA 2011 a while ago. But it may take at least till summer, for them to roll out in complete shape.

Despite that, Samsung has revealed that the TouchWiz 4 UI will not come out of its chrysalis by the time the two tabs roll out to the selling shelves. It will definitely take more time for its last minute polishing. So probably you will get it as a future upgrade only.

One of the most notable features of the TouchWiz User Interface is its Live Panels. These Live Panels feed you with the most updated information on your home screen from different apps. If you are an avid Windows Phone 7 user, you may feel the quintessential ‘WP7’ factor, with these panels.

Similarly, the ‘Mini apps tray’ gives you fast access to the running apps. Well, it’s not just that. To keep you the modern social animal, TouchWiz4 comes with a ‘Social Hub’ which delivers feeds and updates from your digital world, like from email, social networks and messaging to one place.
