HTC Flyer WiFi-Only Android Tablet Coming to Best Buy this Spring

March 23, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

You all know by now that the HTC EVO View 4G was  officiallyannounced by Sprint a while ago. No, we are not elaborating on that piece of technology, but a different one here – the HTC Flyer. The tablet has hopped on to Best Buy, with the retailer announcing that a WiFi-only version of the HTC Flyer will be brought to US customers’ midst not later than Spring.

Though it has not been clearly spelt out by Best Buy as to what version of Android OS will run the device, we guess we should be waiting for an Android 3.0 tablet specific OS.

The current version, as we all know, runs Android 2.4. Let’s look forward to picking the Honeycomb version of the WiFi Flyer on Best Buy this Spring. The HTC Flyer on Best Buy will also feature an active digital pen.

We also will need to wait to know what’s on the pricing front. Best Buy has preferred to stay silent on that. Now, for an amount that you will be asked to part with, HTC will bring via Best Buy the Flyer with specs so amazing. Let’s list them down for you:

  • Android OS (3.0 / 2.4)
  • 1.5GHz processor
  • 7inches
  • 1024×600 display
  • Adobe Flash 10.1 support
  • 1.3MP camera front-facing
  • 5MP rear cameras
  • 802.11 b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 16GB of storage
  • 4,000 mAh battery

We are just waiting for Spring to come so that we get to check out the device at Best Buy.
