Sony is speculated to be developing a new high-end version of the NEX camera, dubbed NEX 7. What interests us much is the fact that the upcoming NEX 7 camera resembles one of Konica Minolta’s old Dimage cameras.
If you would remember, we had first got wind of the camera when it got leaked along with the NEX-5 and NEX-3. By the way, we hope you know the NEX 3 has already been discontinued.
Going by what we were able to gather, the front part of the camera with a 24mm Zeiss mounted, looks exactly like that of the Minolta Dimage A2 (pictured alongside) with a really small nice pro body.
We also hear that the NEX-7 will supposedly be able to shoot 1080p at up to 60fps, or 720p at 120fps. It will also have in-body stabilization, and use the AVCHD codec like the NEX-5.
The NEX series of Sony has enjoyed good demand. But it has been also criticized for its too amateurish features. We hope the upcoming equipment from Sony family will attend to these drawbacks.
The manufacturer has not said anything regarding the launch of the device. However, we hope that it would not go too long, since we know what has happened with NEX-3. The company also plans a replacement of the NEX-3 in April.
