Nokia C7 to Come as Tiger on April 6th; Priced at $79.99

March 17, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

We thought it would come bearing the Astound name. More recognizable as the C7, this Nokia smartphone has been confirmed as set to make its debut on April 6th under the Tiger nomenclature. The Nokia C7, a.k.a. Astound, a.k.a. Tiger, will come riding the T-Mobile carrier waves on that date bearing a price tag of around $79.99, along with a mail-in rebate.

We expect the device to make its debut at the CTIA press event this Monday. A 3.5-inch screen, internal memory of 8 GB, which would have the provision of expansion up to 32 GB, an 8 megapixel camera with HD video capture and more would make the Nokia Tiger a device to die for.

However, we need to come to terms with the Symbian platform that the device would run on. The Tiger will be among the last four Symbian devices on T-Mobile this year.

May be, we will hear more Nokia news soon with the Windows Phone 7 deal already having been inked with Microsoft. The WP7 device from Nokia will start rolling out, starting 2012.

Coming back to more on the Tiger, this device will be presented as a 3G only device. Further, the lure will get some boost with the Ovi Store lining up thousands of apps that could be accessible with the Tiger.

You may want to have a detailed look at the full specifications and functionalities the Tiger would offer for that amount of money you part with. Take a look at all that here.

In the meanwhile, we think we just need to wait to see the Tiger roaring soon. Stay tuned. Hit the play button below to watch a video that details the handset.
