Ubisoft Reveals Rocksmith Music Game

March 16, 2011, By Christian Davis

With Guitar Hero dead, Ubisoft wants to take the reins with their revolutinary new music game called Rocksmith.

Why is this game revolutionary? Rocksmith is the first and only game where players can plug any real guitar with a standard quarter-inch input jack into an Xbox 360, PlayStation, or PC to play through an in-depth library of music including everything from the latest hits to classic rock songs. Which means no more cheap plastic guitars with sticky buttons.

The gameplay automatically adjusts to the players skill level which is a cool feature for veteran guitar players. Rocksmith includes music from bands such as The Animals, The Black Keys, David Bowie, Interpol, Nirvana and The Rolling Stones.

“Rocksmith is the most authentic and addicting music game ever created,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft U.S.. “Whether a beginner or a seasoned guitar vet, players progress at their own speed and walk away from the game with the ability to play songs by memory. Rocksmith is the only video game that gets players stage ready.”

Rocksmith will be available at the later half of the year for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.

Here’s the trailer and some screenshots of some really cool guitars below.
