Samsung Galaxy Player 4 & 5 coming to US this spring: Price and release date unclear, but specs out!

March 16, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

You could say that the Samsung Galaxy Player is the Galaxy S without calling features and those 3G options. Yup, the portable media player from Samsung is all set to make its way out carrying Android Froyo 2.2 and hence you might well have to wait for a Gingerbread update on it. (And knowing Sammy, you will learn all about waiting till finally you are least bothered about the update when it is finally out!)

That little issue apart, the 4-inch and 5-inch versions of the Galaxy Player are all set to arrive on US soil by spring and in case you are interested in grabbing one, then you might want to set aside a bit of dough for that. While the spec sheet is out (and you can see that below), there is no news yet on the launch date or the price tag both Galaxy Player 4 and 5 come out with.

You will get both Galaxy Player 4 and Galaxy Player 5 up to 32GB and if you are a Samsung galaxy S owner waiting for an Android 2.2 update, you might not be too keen on anything Samsung for some time to come. Of course, there will be those who will tell you that it is all, the carriers fault…
