March 16, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The first dual touch-screen smartphone in the US market will hit the street on April 17 exclusively on Sprint. Well, if you are really interested, you may start making a move right now, as the pre-order starts on March 26th. That’s just 10 days ahead, right?

So Sprint will be getting Kyocera Echo, with its cute dual touch screens, to enchant US customers. Apart from being the unique Android smartphone to have dual touch screen with the “Simul-tasking” capabilities (as they call it), Kyocera Echo will be a real class phone when it is offered on Sprint for a tempting $199.99.  However, Sprint demands two year agreement for that deal.

Just to remind you about this device which was announced in early February, Kyocera Echo exemplifies innovativeness, with its dual touch screens of 3.5 inch width and WVGA resolution.

The pivot hinge allows it to operate independently. The hinge also allows you to combine the displays in such a way that it gives the feel of using a 4.7 inch display.

Running Android 2.2, it features Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities and supports up to five devices. It comes with a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and digital zoom. Stereo Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR make it a connectivity device. It can make memorable videos at 720p HD.

The device  comes with 1 GB of onboard memory and an 8 GB microSD card. However, the microSD card slot with the Kyocera Echo can support up to 32 GB.

Before we close, just one more word, those who love having a fight to get this beauty, can head to Echo site, and take part in the ‘Duel for Dual Sweepstakes’.

Here you can compete with other Sprint customers with your sharp shooting skills. If you are the real prince, you get your first dual screen smartphone for free. Run, the game is open and alive from March 15 onwards.
