HTC Prime Windows Phone 7 QWERTY Slider Handset Expected by Mid-2011

A new Windows Phone 7 handset seems to be on its way, and this one comes from the HTC stables. If you have been waiting to play with such a device, we guess you could first see it when the CTIA opens. Christened HTC Prime, the WP7 smartphone could well be seen as HTC’s offering to the world that swears by Windows Phone 7 OS as of late.

Folks at Chinese website XDA have listed down the HTC Prime in its entire splendor, making us feel this could be one device we would go shopping for. A 3.7-inch WVGA, 512MB of RAM under the hood and a 5MP camera with LED flash are all that the Prime will come with.

What we like about the form factor is that the HTC Prime will sport a new style of keyboard that could well be different in many ways compared with the existing QWERTY pads. HTC has opted for oval shaped keys instead of the regular rectangular ones.

Similarities with the existing HTC 7 Pro – another Windows Phone 7 model from the phone maker – are many. But then, we have reasons to believe that this one would be totally a class apart.

We should expect the device to be in our hands by around middle of 2011 – that’s this year itself. Pricing details could be on the way. Stay tuned.
