iOS 4.3 from Apple now available for download: Release out two days earlier than promised by Jobs

March 9, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

We talked about how the March 2nd event and the iPad 2 launch overshadowed something more important that happened on that day for iPhone 4 users. The announcement of iOS 4.3 might not have grabbed as many headlines as the iPad 2, but it is probably the more important release for those with Apple gadgets already. The new software update was supposed to be out on the same day as Apple iPad 2 (March 11th). But we have got it a good 2 days earlier and pushing forward a release date is something we always welcome!

iOS 4.3 was one of the reasons why we predicted iPad 2 would go on to rule the tablet world for the next year or so and here is what the latest iOS update has to offer:

• Personal hotspot for iPhone 4 users (with a tethering data plan)
• Faster Safari thanks to Apple Nitro JavaScript engine
• Host of new AirPlay features that allow you to stream Play videos from the Photos app including the Camera Roll album, iTunes previews, enabled third-party apps and websites on Apple TV along with many other options
• New HD Video out that allows you to stream HD content on to larger displays
• New iPad side switch setting to lock screen rotation
• Push notifications feature
• Several bug fixes for faster and improved UI

So, go to the Apple iTunes Store to download the update and get iOS 4.3 on your iPhone 4. Also let us know how the new features work for you and how personal hotspot goes…
