Angry Birds to be available on Facebook this April: Can Rovio match the iOS & Android success?

Hooked on to Angry Birds? Would you like to see it on Facebook as well? If you are one of those who would like to merge the hours that you spend on Facebook with feather flinging fun, the Rovio has some good news for you. They are all set to launch Angry Birds on Facebook this April and the Angry Birds Facebook page already has a confirmation of the news.

Angry Birds is now available probably on every Smartphone OS out there along with a PC version and even gaming console releases planned. But after the incredible and insane success on the mobile OS front, will it be able to achieve similar heights on Facebook? It might be irrational to expect it to do so for several reasons.

For starters, the mobile apps are aimed at offering fun on the move and in a fashion that does not demand too much out of the limited software or hardware at your disposal. While people love to stay connected with Facebook on the move, it will be interesting to see how many of them turn to Angry Birds. Especially when they can just buy the app from their respective OS App Store!

Then there is the likes of FarmVille, CityVille and other popular Facebook games from Zynga that already have our attention on the social network. Can the Angry Birds be as attractive as the others currently are on Facebook? Or will it seem dull and monotonous?

We will find the answers out very soon. While the fuming little birds might still be a hit on Facebook, they might not set the same record-breaking frenzy as on mobile app platforms.

Update: From the latest reports, it looks like the launch will actually happen in early May. So, you will have to wait a bit longer, but not too much…
