Xbox 720: Microsoft’s new hiring could mean a release date in early 2012

March 8, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

Love the Xbox 360? Already having loads of fun on it along with shooting a few hundred thousand dead? Well, then this is great news for those who are looking forward to the next step in evolution of the Xbox. Microsoft has put up an ad for new developers for an unannounced gaming project and this new hiring has many close to the company speculating about the Xbox 720.

While no one has yet come out with a substantial leak on the ‘new gaming project’ that must be now already underway, it is believed that the latest ad confirms the start of work on Xbox 720. This is how the most important part of the listing goes:

“The Xbox Console Architecture team is hiring for a Graphics hardware architect position. The team is responsible for defining and delivering next generation console architectures from conception through implementation.”

There is also talk of 3D technology involved in the development of this new gaming project and also a demand for gaming applications developers from Microsoft. Seems like we might not be too far away from hearing an Xbox 720 announcement, before a potential 2012 launch.

That is what we are hoping for at this point from Microsoft and with the help of few little leaks in the next few months, we should get to know more about this new gaming project in the works.
