March 7, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Do we need to tell you that the Apple iPad 2 will be in your hands in a matter of a few days? For those who came in late, let us repeat what many among us have been parroting: The iPad 2 launches in the US on March 11th, and you will be able to pick your device online when sales start at 5PM (local time). Launch date buyers, gear up!

For those who would prefer the device on their favorite carriers, Verizon Wireless or AT&T would be the place you should be heading for. As you all know, the Apple iPad 2 will come for the first time on both AT&T and Verizon. March 11 is the date you should be trying to hit now, and be among the first to own the much-talked about device.

When it comes to the carriers, you will be looking to know what plans are on offer, right? For AT&T customers it goes thus: A prepaid plan would be akin to what you have been enjoying for the first generation iPad.

That means, the iPad 2 prepaid plan will get you 250MB for $14.99 and 2GB for $25. A post-paid option will have charge overage at a set amount, which is $10 per 1GB.

Meanwhile, on the Verizon network, the Apple iPad 2 data plan would be 1GB for $20 a month, 3GB for $30, 5GB for $50 and 10GB for $80. For those who look for more than 1GB option overages will need to pay $10 per 1GB while the 1GB for $20 option overages will be charged at $20 per 1GB. Take a look at the chart, courtesy of AllThingsD, and see which of them would suit your wallet.

Are you among those who would want the device on launch date itself? Tell us more on that.
