Motorola Xoom WiFi-only Tablet at Sam’s Club; May Be Available for $539

March 4, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

European online stores have already got their share of the Wi-Fi version of the Motorola Xoom. In case you US fans thought you were left to wait behind the European folks, here’s something you can rejoice about. Sam’s Club is starting to display the device on their racks. Going by the handful of pictures believed to be that WiFi vouchers from the store, we guess we should all head for Sam’s to pick our Xoom.

The Xoom Wi-Fi vouchers have been spotted bearing a $539 price tag. We guess that is much cheaper than a cellular Xoom. Further, it could be cheaper than the recently launched feature-rich Apple iPad 2.

However, people in the know suggest that as Sam’s Club is a wholesale dealer, the actual price may not be what has been mentioned. That means you need not be excited about the price tag that the Xoom Wi-Fi carries with it.

In the meanwhile, we tend to recall the price of the Xoom WiFi that Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha had talked about a while ago. Jha had spoken about a $539 tag – that is much below the $599 we are subject to now from Sam’s.

We will now need to wait to know from Sam’s as to when sale will begin. We are looking forward to a day during the first week of April. Tell us if you are someone who wants to head for Sam’s Club and book your piece.
