Bungie’s next game is an Action MMO

March 4, 2011, By Christian Davis

We now finally have confirmation on Bungie’s upcoming game. It’s been heavily rumored that this was going to be an MMO by a recently let go contractor . The announcement was made at the Game Developers Conference in San Fransisco.

Bungie’s lead network engineer David Aldridge, made the announcement and also put to rest the rumors that the game was the equivalent of “World of Warcraft in space.” Aldridge assured us that it is definitely not.

This is Bungie’s first title under the 10 year Activision alliance and we’re all waiting in anticipation. An action MMO could work out extremely well on the consoles. Bungie is definitely the team to get it done.

Action MMO is somewhat of a broad term. We don’t know if it’s going to be in first person, set on Earth, or on Halo’s infamous ringed planet. All we know is that it’s an Action MMORPG for the consoles.

E3 is just around the corner so hopefully we will get more information then. For now, we can only speculate.
