Xperia PLAY is Official Handset of MLG

March 3, 2011, By Christian Cawley

If you were previously in any doubt of the importance of the Xperia PLAY and the whole PlayStation-Android integration, then the announcement that Sony Ericsson and Major League Gaming are partnering to make it the official handset of MLG should come as no surprise.

The Xperia PLAY heads for MLG

Sony Ericsson and Major League Gaming both know that the mobile phone producers are redefining gaming with Xperia PLAY, a device intended to be a fully featured Android smartphone and the ultimate mobile gaming experience in one package. Sony Ericsson expect that Major League Gaming’s community of gamers will put the device to the ultimate test, one that the developer can learn from.

While you might know of Sony Ericsson and the Xperia PLAY, you might not be aware of MLG, the premier property for video gaming competition as well as the exclusive sanctioning body for both competitive professional and amateur gaming competition in the USA.

The partnership will see each MLG Pro Circuit event feature demonstrations, game challenges and giveaways, in order to showcase the extensive capabilities of Xperia PLAY, and these will kick off at the season opener on April 1 in Dallas.
