LG Optimus Pad priced at €899 on Amazon.de: Price worth the Specs & Features?

March 3, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

If that price displayed on Amazon.de is indeed the final price, then remeber that it includes VAT as well. So, for those in the US looking at the price of the LG Optimus Pad aka T-Mobile G-Slate, it will be more in the order of €750 or so. That is a rough approximation and even at that price, it would be worth pondering whether the Optimus Pad delivers enough. This when there are other Android tablets in the market and also the obvious arrival of iPad 2.

Here is what the G-Slate on T-Mobile (for us in the US) brings with it:

• 8.9-inch Touchscreen
• 1280×768 Screen Resolution
• 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor
• Honeycomb (Android 3.0) on the inside
• 3D capture
• Ability to view 3D content
• 2-Megapixel front-facing camera
• 5-Megapixel rear camera with flash
• 1GB RAM
• 32GB Built-In Memory along with microSD card reader
• WiFi, 3G & Bluetooth
• 630gm in weight- Less than the Apple iPad

We are not very keen on the whole 3D thing, but you could obviously feel differently. It was reported earlier that MobileCity priced it at $700, so that is what you can expect when it arrives on T-Mobile. $700 in the US, €899 in Germany – Are you willing to burn such a deep hole in your pocket for the LG Optimus Pad?
