iPad 2 Launch event: Steve Jobs welcomed with a standing ovation at Apple iPad 2 unveiling

March 2, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

The event is behind us now and it might take a bit of time for the effects to sink in. But the big news from San Francisco iPad 2 unveiling event is not just the hot new next-gen Apple iPad, but it is also a healthy looking Steve Jobs. The face of all events Apple, took center stage once again and went to rip into competition in his own classic way. It was a welcome sight to all those who were dearly hoping that he would make an appearance.

This after the National Enquirer speculated in a pretty ugly fashion about Job’s health. But he walked into the event to a standing ovation and soon settled into his own classic style of presentation. This would not have been a complete Apple event if Jobs did not show up and it also put to rest all the questions surrounding his health. The man seemed frail, but not too bad by the look of things. Jobs was his usual self.

Steve started off with, “We’ve been working on this product for a while, and I didn’t want to miss it.” That seemed the best way to start and then finished off by telling you how Apple put a lot more than technical expertise into the iPad 2 and how a little ‘human element” was what differentiated it from competition. Jobs brought along a very powerful gadget to take on his opponents and once again walked out with head held high.

Good day for Apple, Steve Jobs and all of us who were waiting for the iPad 2!
