iPad 2 comes to the Apple Store [iPad 2 official high-res images available]

Steve Jobs and the gang are live on stage showing the new iPad 2 to the world. We had high expectations for the device, and were worried that it may be a bust for not being able to deliver. But we were … sooo wrong.

“2011 is going to be the year of the iPad”. That’s what Steve said after taking stage and mocking the copycats (Motorola, Samsung, HP or BlackBerry) in the tablet market. And considering what the device comes packed with, we can say that Apple managed, once again, to get people interested with an improved product.

More to it, this improved product won’t cost a dime more, compared to the initial iPad. For the WiFi version, the 16GB model is $499, the 32GB goes for $599 and the 64GB is $699. While the WiFi + 3G version goes for $629, $729 and $829, respecitvely, with both AT&T and Verizon Wireless.

But don’t take our word for it, check out the Apple Store where the iPad 2 is now proudly promoted.

Oh, one more thing. The White iPad 2 is said to start shipping at the same time with the black model, so no more delays like the ones for the iPhone 4.

Here are the official images, scaled to 540 to fit, but you can click on them for full size.
