iOS 4.3 to be available for download on March 11th: Coming with the release of iPad 2

March 2, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

Maybe it went a bit under the radar at the iPad 2 launch, but the iOS 4.3 announcement is equally important and probably far more widespread in impact than the tablet launch. It is apparently all set for a release and will be available for download on March 11th- the day when iPad 2 will hit store shelves. The iOS 4.3 will make your life a lot easier and far better on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

The software update is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3rd & 4th generation, iPad and iPad 2. The biggest feature that the iOS 4.3 update will bring is the personal hotspot for GSM iPhones. It seems that this is limited to iPhone 4 users as there has been an announcement only for the latest iPhone users. iPhone 3GS users might not enjoy the feature, but we will have to wait for confirmation on that.

With an improvement in AirPlay you should now be able to stream content from iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to Apple TV. This includes photos, music and obviously HD videos as well. Also coming with the iOS 4.3 is the new Nitro JavaScript engine for Safari that makes it a lot faster than it was on iOS 4.2. Those who have tried the iPad 2 hands-on already vouch for this miraculous increase in speed!

There are many more little advantages that the iOS 4.3 brings along with it and if you are an iPhone 4 user it is definetly the bigger news of the day than the launch of iPad 2. Now to wait till March 11th…
