Branded by The Sims

Been looking for that Sims-branded laptop or perhaps a mouse featuring Electronic Arts’ famous diamond symbol? You should be pretty happy with a new deal announced by Mad Catz, in which the hardware manufacturer gets the go-ahead to make all sorts of branded hardware!
The Sims gaming accessories
The agreement grants Mad Catz non-exclusive rights to produce and market a wide range of videogame accessories for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, 3DS and Wii systems, all based on The Sims.
Naturally – as is the way with these things – the aim is to capture a new, wider audience of casual and enthusiast gamers, and might even include a special “Sims diamond” piece of headware so that you too can look like you’re being controlled by a more powerful and intelligent entity whose existence is beyond your comprehension (although we might also have just made that up).

Aiming to produce a range of accessories that would appeal to fans of The Sims could prove difficult in a world that is largely customisable. While custom game controllers is likely, more useful might be slogan-based items with text-versions of the Simlish for “I need to go to the toilet” and “do you know this toaster oven delivers a very low nutritional value to anything that is cooked in it…?”
