Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi only for £450 in the UK: 3G Xoom for €700 in Germany

The Oscars are over and we are guessing the stars got to take home the Xoom clad in gold for free. Obviously we are not going to get any for free and pre-order news from Europe has given us an idea of what we will have to part with for the Xoom. PC World in the UK has put up the Xoom for pre-order and it will set you back by £450($730). Hat is of course the Wi-Fi only version.

That still is good news as it is £60 less than the 32GB Wi-Fi-Only iPad and not too far away from the 16GB Wi-Fi-only iPad model price tag. Since the Xoom has been listed only in the 32GB category, it seems like Motorola is willing to bring down the Xoom’s price to a point where it gors head-on with the Apple iPad.

It seems that the pre-order page at PC World was pulled a bit later, but we are hoping that is to sort out a few technical issues in the placing of the order rather than a price revamp. Meanwhile the 3G Xoom model was spotted in the T-Mobile Germany ads for €699.95. The 32GB 3G iPad is priced at €699, so it seems that Motorola has decided to really take Apple on this time.

Now, it no longer is about the price of the tablet and just about what Motorola and Apple bring to the table in terms of hardware and OS inside. So, what will it be? Xoom or iPad?
