Samsung Galaxy S 2 Hits More UK Retailers; 16 GB Version for £599 (Video)

February 28, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Remember, Samsung Galaxy S 2 had appeared on a UK retailer’s website last week for pre-order with an expected launch somewhere in March. Now the S 2 appears to be hitting more on-line retailers in the UK. The phone costs £599, and comes with a shipping date at the fag end of March.

Interestingly, there are considerable differences between the prices announced. Play – a UK retailer website – is offering the 16 GB version of Samsung Galaxy S 2 for a price of £599. Claiming that the original price for the model is £649, Play.com offers a discount of £50 for every Galaxy S 2.

However, clove.co.uk which was the first retailer to list the device last week, has offered the same version for £510 +taxes. But they had clearly indicated that the prices may vary close to the real launch and hinted about the possibility that the 16 GB version to be a little more expensive. Going by that hint, we may assume that the Play.com listing to be the real one.

Well, Play does not seem to be offering the 32 GB version. We haven’t got any clue form any UK carriers about the possible pricing of the device bundled with a contract period.

Just to give you a gist on the specs of the device, it features Super AMOLED Plus display with 480×800 resolution, 1 GHz  dual core processor, 8 megapixel rear cam, 2 megapixel front camera  , 1080p Full HD video recording, and a lot more.

Here’s a list of the specs of the phone:

•   4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display

•  800 x 480 Display Resolution

•   Gingerbread with TouchWiz 4.0

•   Dual-core 1GHz Samsung Processor
