February 26, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Though it is all Gingerbread and Honeycomb stuff these days, here is a cute Froyo device getting official. The HTC Merge, which we had listed long back as one of the most expected devices, will be available this Spring.

Running on the Android 2.2 Froyo platform, HTC Merge offers you a 3.8 inch touch screen display and a slide out QWERTY keypad. The 5MP cam on the rear comes with auto focus and assistance flash. It can record videos at 720p HD.

HTC Merge is the first CDMA world phone that runs on an Android platform. As with other HTC devices, it comes with the unique HTC Sense User Interface. It also comes with integrated GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Though you may desire for something newer than a Froyo, HTC Merge is a cute device with its unique features. Its excellent integration with the Exchange ActiveSync and ability to share photos through Flickr will make it a favorite for those who are keen on clicking pictures from full-of-life moments.

Moreover, the power of Android allows you to have indefinite fun and convenience offered by thousands of apps available at the Android Market.

HTC just plainly says that Merge will hit multiple North American carriers in spring 2011. Just that much, no word on pricing or exact launch date.
