Video chatting just got better. To make the most of the social networking frenzy, Microsoft has launched an interesting piece of hardware – a high definition web cam that promises crystal clear video chats.

Dubbed LifeCam HD-3000, the brilliantly designed camera features a 720p HD sensor to deliver visuals in High Definition. To deliver high quality image replication it makes use of the TrueColour technology also.

The most notable feature of this web cam is its compatibility with a range of different chatting services. You can use LifeCam HD-3000 on any instant messaging services like Yahoo messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Skype and AOL Instant Chat.

By adding LifeCam HD-3000 to its product line up, Microsoft has enriched their web cam range in the LifeCam series. This 4.3 inch tall web cam comes with a universal attachment base which helps it to be placed on different surfaces like the top of a flat screen, notebook or any flat surface.

The Windows Live Movie Maker feature that accompanies the cam will be a help for video bloggers and live bloggers to publish their works on-line. LifeCam HD-3000 is capable of providing 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio for video recorded on it.

Its noise cancelling microphone helps avoiding unnecessary noise and brings out crystal clear voice. It will be available from next month onwards for a price of $39.95.
