Android Tablets to Get ‘The Daily’ by Q2 this Year

It seems to be score-settling time in the Apple-Android rivalry scene. Android tablets will be no more an inch behind the Apple iPad, not anymore because the latter doesn’t have ‘The Daily’ available for its users. News Corp is making moves to launch ‘The Daily’ – their digital news publication exclusively designed for iPad – in Android tablet devices also.

iPad was the only device in which The Daily was available so far and Apple Apps Store was the only place where you can purchase this tablet form of newspaper journalism. However, things will change soon with News Corp planning to launch it in Android market in the second quarter of this year.

Though News Corp head Rupert Murdoch announced during the launch of The Daily that it will belong to iPad exclusively for almost two years, things turn out to be different now. News Corp is yet to confirm this news officially.

Despite getting a lot of technical assistance from Apple to develop and run The Daily without technical snags, the publication has been a News Corp project always.

Moreover, the popularity of The Daily since its appearance in the Apple Store has made News Corp confident about the expansion plans.

However, the move is not at all surprising since Murdoch has earlier announced the intentions to make the Daily available in as many tablets as possible.
