iPad 2 to hit 30 million mark in sales, estimates RBC: Forecast of Apple iPad 2 sales confirms it will hit stores before April!

February 23, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

RBC Capital Markets Managing Director Mike Abramsky seemed very confident when he told that he expected the Apple iPad 2 to cross the 30 million mark in sales after its release. Now, we are no experts in sales predictions, but we are assuming that it is a very educated and well-researched guess from RBC’s Managing Director and with the popularity that it has garnered, that target well might be easily possible. But what is more interesting is his exact statement.

There are many out there speculating about when the Apple iPad 2 will be hitting the stores, despite its launch event now scheduled on March 2nd. Well, we might be clutching at the straws here, but with Mike Abramsky saying that he expects the iPad 2 sales to hit 30 million mark “between April 2011 and March 2012”, we think the release is imminent as well.

And this is also typical of Apple and their annual cycle. So, with the iPad first hitting stores in the beginning of April 2010, we should see the very same this time as well with the iPad 2. March is just too early and anything beyond early April is too late. So, a month’s gap between the launch and release and somewhere around April first week should be the time iPad 2 hits stores.
