Windows Phone 7 first update rolled out by Microsoft: A prelude to Copy & Paste Feature

February 22, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

Microsoft has released its first ever Windows Phone 7 Update and while the new update does not bring the much sought-after ‘Copy and Paste’ feature just yet, it apparently helps in the process of getting there eventually. It has been known for a while that the Copy and Paste update for WP7 is going to be out sometime in March.

While no date has been announced or even specific time period yet revealed by Microsoft, those close to WP7 strongly suggest that the Copy and Paste option should be available in your WP7 Smartphone by the end of March. The current update though is something which improves the Software Update Process and so you might not really see anything visibly change a great deal.

You can plug in your Windows Phone 7 mobile into your PC and can get the update via Zune. Mac users need the Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac to get it installed. Microsoft is not directly streaming it to your phone out of security concerns and hence this way of updating WP7.

So did you get the WP7 Update installed? Still waiting eagerly for Copy and Paste? It should not be too long from now before you have it on your WP7 Smartphone…
